Stir ("we", "our", "us") operates the Stir mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By using Stir, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, and profile picture (via Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email registration).

Recipe Data: Recipes you import, create, or save within the App, including ingredients, instructions, images, and nutrition information.

Usage Data: Information about how you use the App, such as features accessed, meal plans created, and shopping lists generated.

Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for analytics and push notifications.

Photos: If you grant permission, we access your photo library solely to allow you to set a profile picture or add images to your recipes. We do not access your photos for any other purpose.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App
  • Process your recipe imports, meal plans, and shopping lists
  • Personalise your experience with dietary preferences and recipe recommendations
  • Send push notifications (if enabled) about meal reminders and new features
  • Process subscription payments through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Respond to customer support requests

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting (DigitalOcean), payment processing (Apple/Google via RevenueCat), email services (Resend), and analytics
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on encrypted servers. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure database access, and encrypted API communications. Recipe images are stored on DigitalOcean Spaces with CDN delivery.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your recipe data
  • Opt out of push notifications

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the App's Profile screen. When you delete your account, we permanently remove all your personal data, recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and chat history within 30 days. Active subscriptions should be cancelled separately through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

8. Children's Privacy

Stir is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the App and on our website.
